The Love Rats
Having all grown up together in Perth, Western Australia, The Love Rats have a deep musical connection that spans over 10 years, resulting in a unique, creative sound. The band lived and studied together at the prestigious James Morrison Academy of Music, where they studied under the tutelage of some of Australia’s most renowned and in demand jazz musicians. The members of the band all boast impressive individual musical resumes, collectively having had the opportunity to work with big name artists such as Kurt Elling, Wycliffe Gordon, Joey DeFrancesco and Gordon Goodwin. Each member has a unique musical voice, informed by a broad taste in music, coming together as a collective to create an inspired, swinging sound. Now living in Perth once again, The Love Rats are one of the hottest tickets in town.
Jayden and Jackson Jazz Duo
Having played music together since primary school, Jayden (saxophone) and Jackson’s (piano) musical connection spans over a decade. Both members of the duo command virtuosic control of their respective instruments and have a deep connection to the jazz tradition after completing their studies under mentor James Morrison. Expect fun, hard swinging jazz, perfect for any occasion. The pair recently hosted the “Jazz Dinner” for the Perth International Jazz Festival, which was met with resounding acclaim.
